Welcome
One of Europe`s most visually stunning cities, Barcelona balance the medieval intimacy of its Gothic Quarter with the grace and distinction of the wide boulevards in the Modern Eixample – just as the Mediterranean Gothic elegance of the church of Santa Maria del Mar provides a perfect counterpoint to Gaudi`s masterpiece Sagrada Familia
Barcelona has long had a frenetically active cultural life. Perhaps most famously, it was the home of architect Antoni Gaudi, whose buildings are the most starling statements of Modernism. Other leading Modernist architect include Luis Domenech i Muntaner and Josep Puig I Cadalfalch. The pintors Joan Mirò and Antoni Tàpies are also strongly identified with Catalonia. Pablo Picasso spent is formative years in Barcelona, and one of the cities treasures is a museum devoted to his works. The Liceu, Barcelona`s Opera House, is the finest in Spain.
You can enjoy a lovely sunset in Olimpic beach or Barceloneta.
